John chapter 14 tells how Jesus did not leave us as orphans. He came to us.

Because the Father has adopted us, we will follow Him and also adopt.

It's Decided- Bulgaria!!!

We have picked our agency- Lifeline in Birmingham. We have had confirmation after confirmation from God that this is who we are supposed to work with.

Now the exciting news is that we've picked a country! Bulgaria it is! Why Bulgaria? Well, we kept waiting for some miraculous neon flashing sign in the sky from God to tell us what country, but that never happened haha. We have been praying about the country for a long time though. The other night Wesley and I were listening to the book Adopted for Life, and we heard the author's story of choosing Russia because it just fit and made sense- not because they had some special sign or because this country has the most orphans or worst orphanages or biggest AIDS problem or anything else like that. The next day Wesley and I talked and decided that we would proceed with Bulgaria because it makes sense for us. Our agency has a program there. It only requires two short trips, which is an important factor in the decision making process for us. It takes 2-3 years for a referral of a young two year old, which would mean Sarah would end up a year older than her sister. The cost is not beyond what we hope to be able to raise. It just works for us. Every orphan needs a home and a family. We aren't worried that we'll get the wrong one!
